Green Legislative Assembly, a 200-feet high dome, is an initiative by the Indian State of Tamil Nadu. It is India's first Green legislative Assembly. It allows maximum use of sunlight and a new technology that stops wastage of electricity. India has spent Rs 450-crore for the project. This is now seen as the model for other states as well. Sunlight is used during day to light the interior and no electric lights are required. Interior is equipped with sensors in every room which automatically turn off lights and air conditioning when nobody is using it.
